THAT UNCERTAIN FEELING THAT UNCERTAIN FEELING glass slide OR search current auctions Auction History Result w077 THAT UNCERTAIN FEELING magic lantern movie glass slide '41 Lubitsch Date Sold 6/27/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Ernst Lubitsch's That Uncertain Feeling, the 1941 Ernst Lubitsch romantic love triangle psychiatry comedy ("He's helping me to get rid of my hiccups!"; "This is just one of the hilarious situations Merle finds herself in when she gets 'that uncertain feeling'. You'd probably do the same thing yourself - if you got the Lubitsch touch!"; "They know all about love... and they teach you all they know... when they get That Uncertain Feeling!"; "Screenplay by Donald Ogden Stewart"; about a married woman who develops severe hiccups after six years of marriage, and a psychiatrist tells her she needs to get divorced, and her husband sadly agrees to let her go, and she starts a relationship with one of the psychiatrist's patients, a neurotic concert pianist, but she remains in love with her husband, and he with her!) starring Merle Oberon, Melvyn Douglas, Burgess Meredith, Alan Mowbray, Harry Davenport, Eve Arden, and Sig Ruman (billed as "Sig Rumann") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this slide comes with the protective cardboard holders that were placed over each side of the glass when they were shipped to theaters (to prevent breakage), and they obviously worked well, or otherwise they would have had to send them a different way! 99% of the time, theaters discarded these cardboard inserts, and so they are almost never found with the slide, but this slide has its original cardboard inserts! Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. This glass slide is in really excellent condition, and we feel that EVERY collector would be happy to own it. It IS possible it may have an extremely MINOR defect or defects, but nothing at all significant. We bet many dealers would call items in this grade "mint" or "near mint"!
