MERLE OBERON

Merle Oberon was an Indian-born English actress from the 1920s to the 1970s. She was officially born to Welsh and Sri Lankan parents, though her biological father's never been identified, and she was raised thinking her mother was her sister, as she was only 12 years older than Merle! She lived in India until she was 17, when she moved to London. She is probably best remembered for her role as Cathy in Wuthering Heights. Some of her other movies include: The Dark Angel (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Divorce of Lady X, These Three, and The Private Life of Henry VIII. Merle passed away in 1979 at the age of 68.
