Attack of the B Movie Posters (Volume: 14)
This collection contains 280 full-color illustrations spread over 84 pages. This book does not focus on the lesser cowboy and crime movies of the 1930s and 1940s which are generally called "B" movies. The movies represented in this book include some of the worst films ever made, but all have great poster art and taglines! Who Goes There? (Volume: 17)
This book contains 260 full-color illustrations spread over 80 pages. It includes a wonderful collection of 1950s and 1960s horror/sci-fi one-sheets and lobby cards. Because many of the illustrations are of two lobby cards from a single film (almost always the title card and the best scene card), the book contains over 450 images of 1950s and early 1960s horror and science fiction movie posters and lobby cards! This is a virtual encyclopedia to just about every horror and science fiction film made during this period, including all the best-known titles! 1950s and early 1960s horror and science fiction is the most popular genre of movie poster collecting, and the posters and lobby cards from those films are the most desirable and sought-after of any movie paper. Perhaps it is because of the often wild and outrageous images that filmmakers used to try to promote these often low-budget movies. Often the posters were far superior to the films they advertised! This is the original first edition from 2001, and it will never be reprinted.

SOLD OUT
60 Great Horror Movie Posters (Volume: 19)
This book contains 60 FULL-PAGE FULL-COLOR images of some of the greatest horror movie posters ever made! This book retails for $14.99!
Our previous books contain hundreds of images in each, but in order to have so many images, we had to make most of them 1/4 of the page or smaller.  But we also certainly understand a small image does not do justice to these great posters, and we have always agonized when deciding which posters will be given a full page!
That is why we have made this major change in this series, The Illustrated History of Movie Posters. Each new volume in this series now contains sixty of the finest posters from a single genre, with EVERY poster receiving a full-page and each volume is printed with the exact same standards of quality of the earlier series. Since the cover price of each volume is just $14.99, that means the cost per image is just 25 cents!
For this volume, 60 Great Horror Movie Posters (and for the second volume we published at the same time. 60 Great Sci-Fi Movie Posters), we were faced with a difficult question. Exactly where is the dividing line between "horror", "sci-fi" (and "fantasy")? We don't believe there is a good answer to this question! In our view, horror films must contain a desire to scare the viewers, and should have fantastic elements that could never happen in reality. Sci-fi films should be solidly based in reality, with elements that may well be possible someday, thanks to advances in science. Fantasy films should contain some contrary-to-fact elements (like magic or backward time-travel), but should not be based on a desire to scare the viewer.
But even with these loose definitions, assigning films to these genres is still very difficult, so in the end we just took our best guess and divided these genres into two groups, putting all those films we deemed as "horror" in 60 Great Horror Movie Posters, and all those films we deemed as "sci-fi" or "fantasy" in 60 Great Sci-Fi Movie Posters!

Since the cover price of each volume is just $14.99, that means the cost per image is just 25 cents!
For this volume, 60 Great Cowboy Movie Posters, I was faced with an unusual problem. Three of the greatest cowboy stars, John Wayne, Buck Jones, and Tom Mix, were great moneymakers for their studios and those studios (Republic, Columbia, and William Fox) created their finest posters for their films. So this book could have consisted entirely of posters of those three stars! But I wanted to still give an overview of all the top stars over all the years, so I chose some of the finest posters of the above stars and also many of the finest posters of the other top cowboy stars, and the best-remembered western films.
