An Original Vintage Theatrical Jumbo Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 17" x 26 1/4" [43 x 67 cm]) (Learn More)

State Boyertown, the 1935 local theater window card listing the movies that were playing at the State Boyertown theater for the week starting June 3rd which included: Go Into Your Dance (released in other English-speaking countries as "Casino de Paris"), the 1935 Archie Mayo & Michael Curtiz romantic musical starring Al Jolson, Ruby Keeler (Jolson & Keeler were the real life couple who were the inspiration for "A Star is Born", in their only movie together), Glenda Farrell, Sharon Lynne, Patsy Kelly, Benny Rubin, Phil Regan, Helen Morgan, Gordon Westcott and Barton MacLane AND Times Square Lady, the 1935 George B. Seitz New York City romantic inheritance crime melodrama ("Country girl startles Broadway!"; a wacky story of a pretty girl going to New York City after her father dies, and finding he owned a bunch of businesses, but there is a crooked lawyer trying to swindle her, and there is a handsome man who romances her, but he is working with the lawyer) starring Robert Taylor (this was his first top-billed role after a series of minor roles!), Virginia Bruce, Pinky Tomlin, Helen Twelvetrees, Isabel Jewell, Nat Pendleton. Note that the plot of this movie is very similar to Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, which came out the following year, but with the sex of the heroes reversed (but the source stories for the two were written by different people) AND Reckless, the 1935 Victor Fleming romantic love triangle musical screwball comedy ("See Jean Harlow dance! Hear Jean Harlow sing the blues!"; "The giant melody drama!"; Harlow is a showgirl who is madly in love with sports promoter Powell, but he doesn't have time for her, and rich Tone chases after her, but discovers his rich high society friends won't accept showgirl Harlow, even after he marries her) starring Jean Harlow, William Powell, Franchot Tone, May Robson, Ted Healy (most famous as the person who started The Three Stooges; they were first billed as "Ted Healy and his Stooges"; he let them go on their own, hiring replacement "Stooges", but that did not work out well at all!), Nat Pendleton, Robert Light, Rosalind Russell, Mickey Rooney, Allen 'Farina' Hoskins, Man Mountain Dean (the real life wrestler, as himself!), Allan Jones ("The new crooning sensation!"), Henry Stephenson, and Leon Ames

Important Added Info: Note that this 17" x 26 1/4" local theater window card was created by a local printing company for a specific theater when this movie first came out. It is on similar paper stock to the regular jumbo window cards that were created at this time, but instead of measuring 22" x 28", it measures smaller, and of course, they were created for a specific theater.

Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Some of these items can ONLY be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. On some of them (for example f it is a size that might ordinarily be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet), the reason it is in this auction is specifically because we feel it either CAN'T be rolled or because we feel it would be a mistake to roll it, because it might well damage the item. In the case of the few items that could be rolled, we will roll the item in a tube if the new owner insists, but only if they accept that they can't return the item if it is damaged from being rolled. So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it.

Condition: good. There is water staining scattered in parts of the edges of the poster, more so in the bottom corners. There is a partial slightly diagonal crease down the center of the card. Otherwise, it is in pretty nice condition
