An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 24" x 37 1/2") (Learn More)

Das indische Grabmal erster Teil - Die Sendung des Yoghi (released in the U.S. as "Above All Law"; also released as "The Indian Tomb: Part I - The Mission of the Yogi"), the 1921 Joe May German silent mystic fantasy adventure thriller sequel (screenplay by Fritz Lang from the novel by Thea von Harbou) starring Conrad Veidt, Mia May, Olaf Fonss, Erna Morena, Bernhard Goetzke, and Lya De Putti. The movie was was a sequel to "Das indische Grabmal zweiter Teil - Der Tiger von Eschnapur" (The Tiger of Eschnapur), made earlier the same year. Note that in 1938, after Lang and von Harbou split (with Lang going to America and von Harbou staying in Germany), both novels by von Harbou were remade, and they were directed by Richard Eichberg. Note that in 1959, in a very odd turn, Fritz Lang directed remakes of both 1938 movies, so obviously he did not bear ill will against his ex-wife (and author of both novels), Thea von Harbou!

Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet has had its blank borders trimmed and now measures 24" x 37 1/2". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41".

Condition: fair to good. The poster had all of its blank borders trimmed off and it now measures 24" x 37 1/2", and there were areas of paper loss scattered throughout the poster (but fortunately, many were in solid background areas, and none were in the faces of either star). Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but the restorer did no restoration whatsoever. I would think a talented restorer could finish the restoration without re-backing the poster, but I can't say for sure.
