eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 4p724 RIDERS OF THE WEST 1sh '42 great cowboy western art of Buck Jones & Tim McCoy! Date Sold 2/2/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Riders of the West, the 1942 Howard Bretherton cowboy western starring The Rough Riders (Buck Jones, Tim McCoy, and Raymond Hatton), Sarah Padden, Silver, Christine McIntyre, Charles King, and Milburn Morante. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: poor to fair. The poster is in much lesser condition. There are several defects scattered along the edges and foldlines/crossfolds and there are several significant areas of foldline and/or crossfold separation. Many of the defects have been repaired with tape from the back that may bleed through to the front. The poster is very fragile and somewhat difficult to handle. The vertical foldline has much deterioration and paper loss. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
