An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Going Wild, the 1930 William A. Seiter mistaken identity romantic airplane aviation musical comedy (about a guy who is mistaken for an airplane ace, and he is treated like a hero, but then the town asks him to fly an airplane on a special mission, and he has never been in a plane before, but he decides to fake it!) starring Joe E. Brown, Lawrence Gray, Ona Munson, Walter Pidgeon, Laura Lee, and Frank McHugh. Note that Walter Pidgeon (who plays "Ace", the airplane pilot who Joe E. Brown is mistaken for) was born in 1897, and started making silent movies in the mid 1920s, but he had limited success. He had a wonderful speaking voice, but that did not lead to stardom in early sound movies. Finally, in 1937, at the age of 40, MGM put him under contract, but still limited him to supporting roles. His "big break" finally came in 1941 with "How Green Was My Valley", and he became one of MGM's top stars of the early 1940s (no doubt helped by so many other male stars being away at war). He stayed with MGM for the remainder of his career.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1930 movie paper from this Joe E. Brown movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single poster (only stills and lobby cards) from this movie until we received this one-sheet!

Condition: fair to good. There is separation in the left 16" of the bottom horizontal fold, with a diagonal tear running below the right end of that fold, ending just below the small credits. There are many water stains in the bottom 3" of the poster, with some at the left and right ends of the bottom horizontal fold. There is paper loss in the top left blank corner and some stains scattered in the rest of the top blank border. There are two pieces of paper tape on the back of the top border and some small tape repairs on the back of the crossfolds and borders. Obviously, this poster can be "rescued" by a talented restorer, but please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
