An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Squareheads of the Round Table, the 1948 Edward Bernds medieval romantic slapstick comedy short ("The Stooges start a KNIGHT RIOT in King Arthurs court!"; The Stooges try to help their handsome blacksmith friend marry the daughter of King Arthur, but they get thrown in a dungeon instead, but then the blacksmith helps them escape, and they help King Arthur, who gratefully allows his daughter to marry the blacksmith) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Shemp Howard), Christine McIntyre, Philip Van Zandt, Jock Mahoney (billed as "Jacques O'Mahoney"; as the blacksmith), and Vernon Dent (as King Arthur) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Jock Mahoney! Our consignor corresponded with Mr. Mahoney in 1976, and they exchanged several letters, and our consignor sent him several photos to sign and return. On this one, Mr. Mahoney did not want to sign with a pen, because of the dark background, so he used a white paint mixture to sign it in the middle right, so it would show well, and it does. Our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are absolutely certain the signature is authentic. Note that this still is a key book still, printed on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the left of the still. Condition: good to very good. The left 1" was neatly trimmed off (see above).
