A 1960 Re-Release (re-titled "Female and the Flesh" for this re-release) Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) La Lumiere d'en Face (released in the U.S. in 1957 as "The Light Across the Street" and "Female and the Flesh"), the 1955 Georges Lacombe French bad girl romantic love triangle melodrama ("Temptations of the World! ...with a climax every woman will remember as a new emotional experience!"; "The sensational Brigitte Bardot in 'The Light Across the Street'"; "More woman than any man can handle!"; the plot of the movie owes a lot to "The Postman Always Rings Twice"; Bardot and her husband run a highway restaurant; her husband is recovering from an accident and neglects her, and when a new young handsome man starts to work at the gas station across the street, events progress as you would expect they would) starring Raymond Pellegrin, Roger Pigaut, Brigitte Bardot, Claude Romain, Antonin Berval (billed as "Berval"), Daniel Ceccaldi, Lucien Hubert, Guy Pierauld, and Jean Debucourt. Note that this movie had an extremely limited U.S. subtitled release from UMPO in 1957 as "The Light Across the Street" and " Female and the Flesh" (perhaps solely in major cities at "arthouse" theaters). It was re-released in the U.S. in 1960 under the title of "Female and the Flesh" with English dubbing, and with all new posters, and these posters are often mistakenly sold as being from the first U.S. release. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. There are several many creases and smudges scattered in various areas (see our image). There is some writing at lower right. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
