Fame, the classic 1980 Alan Parker New York City High School of the Performing Arts dancing musical melodrama ("If they've really got what it takes, it's going to take everything they've got."; "Fame is the glamour of the Great White Way of Broadway and the squalor of 42nd Street; the dream of instant success and the constant reminder of failure; the fine line between a Juilliard Scholarship and dancing topless at the Metropole... It's George M. Cohan and the City Ballet, Rock and Roll and Vivaldi. It is New York: vulgar yet beautiful. A dozen races pitching in and having their own crack at the American Dream."; "Written by Christopher Gore"; set in a fictitious New York City high school, based on the real High School of Performing Arts; about a group of highly talented students going to school and trying to become singers, actors, dancers, etc. at the same time) starring Irene Cara (best remembered for singing the theme song to this movie; as Coco), Lee Curreri (as Bruno), Albert Hague (as Mr. Shorofsky), Paul McCrane, Gene Anthony Ray (as Leroy), Debbie Allen (as Ms. Grant), and Anne Meara (as Mrs. Sherwood)

Important Added Info: Note that this is a commercial poster made by CinePoster. This was a company that made French movie posters at the time of many movies' first release in the 1970s and 1980s, and they were made from the same printing plates as the theater posters, and the only difference is a CinePoster logo in the bottom right corner. While most of the CinePoster printings were of current 1970s and 1980s movies, there were some that were done for re-releases of earlier movies, which is the case here, because this is a 1986 re-release of this classic movie, but it was made to be sold in French stores, and was NOT used in French movie theaters.
