An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/2" x 30 1/4" [34 x 77 cm]) (Learn More) Deep in My Heart, the 1954 Stanley Donen romantic biography musical ("MGM's finest musical in color!"; "The greatest array of musical talent in all picturedom... In the dramatic, eventful love story of a man who wrote the songs the nation took to its heart!"; "21 Hit Songs! 20 Hollywood Stars!"; "From the Book by Elliot Arnold"; "Based on the Life and the Melodies of Sigmund Romberg"; the movie had a framework plot, but it was really just an excuse to present 11 different song and dance numbers from 11 Broadway shows!) starring Jose Ferrer (as Sigmund Romberg), Merle Oberon, Helen Traubel, (and a cast of MGM "guest stars" including) Walter Pidgeon, Paul Henreid, Rosemary Clooney, Gene Kelly, Fred Kelly (billed as "Gene & Fred Kelly"), Jane Powell, Vic Damone, Ann Miller, Cyd Charisse, Howard Keel, Tony Martin, Doe Avedon, Tamara Toumanova, Paul Stewart, Isobel Elsom, William Olvis, and James Mitchell. Note that star Jose Ferrer was married to Rosemary Clooney (who also appeared in the movie) when this movie was made. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this daybill was used by The Orpheum theater in Sydney, Australia that originally opened in 1935! The theater featured art deco design, two levels and seating for 1735. The theater was sold in the 1970s and converted into a shopping center. Luckily, in 1986, it was lovingly restored and re-opened as the Hayden Orpheum! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. There is a theater snipe glued across the top of the poster that adds approximately 3 1/4" to the overall height of the poster and there is a "Metroscope" snipe in the left of the bottom edge (the poster was not trimmed and the snipes could surely be removed by a professional restorer, or talented amateur, if one chose to do so). There are some creases scattered throughout the poster from it being oddly folded at one time and there is a small amount of tattering around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
