An Original Vintage Theatrical 11 1/4" x 14" [29 x 36 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Frances, the 1982 Graeme Clifford ultra-depressing biography ("Her story is shocking, disturbing, compelling...and True." ...almost. See the note below; of cult 1930s actress Frances Farmer) starring Jessica Lange (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Frances Farmer), Jonathan Banks, Bonnie Bartlett, James Brodhead, Sam Shepard, Anjelica Huston, and Kim Stanley (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film). Note that Frances Farmer is a legendary actress of the 1930s, partly for her great beauty and acting talent, and partly due to her great personal troubles, which resulted in her being institutionalized. A few years ago, I was informed by researcher Jeffrey Kauffman that the story of her being lobotomized is actually an urban legend! This myth was spread in a book and movie of Farmer's life, and it will be difficult to ever convince people that it is not true. In any event, Farmer was an extremely beautiful and talented actress, and original movie posters and lobby cards from her movies are highly sought after by collectors, but few are ever offered for sale! UPDATED 09/23/2016: Note that this still is from the 1982 film Frances, and not the 1984 film Country as we originally listed. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
