An Original 1987 (from the first release of this movie in Hungary) Vintage Theatrical Folded Hungarian Movie Poster (measures 15 3/4" x 22 1/2" [40 x 57 cm]) (Learn More)

Young Frankenstein (released outside the U.S. as "Frankenstein Junior"), the classic 1974 Mel Brooks monster horror screwball comedy parody ("A Mel Brooks Film"; "Based on characters in the novel 'Frankenstein' by Mary W. Shelley"; "screen story and screenplay by Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks"; a wacky parody of the classic "Bride of Frankenstein") starring Gene Wilder (in the title role as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein), Peter Boyle (as The Monster), Marty Feldman (as Igor), Cloris Leachman, Teri Garr, Kenneth Mars, Madeline Kahn, and Gene Hackman (as the "Blindman"). Note that Gene Hackman and Peter Boyle do a hysterically funny parody of the scene from 1935's The Bride of Frankenstein where the monster encounters a blind hermit!

Important Added Info: Note that there is a special story behind this poster! In the 1970s and 1980s, there was a Hungarian printer named BKKM Mozi ROTA, which designed their own posters for a specific theater that they were connected to, and they also sent some of these posters to some other Hungarian theaters. But their posters were all this "half-sheet" size (15 3/4" x 22 1/2"), and their posters all have a very different distinctive style that makes them instantly recognizable. So on movies in the 1970s and 1980s where BKKM Mozi ROTA created posters, there are two versions, one the BKKM Mozi ROTA version, and the other, the regular MOKEP version (which was the main printer for Hungarian posters at this time). We are currently auctioning both versions of this poster, in two separate auctions. Note that this is an extremely rare poster! We never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster was folded across the middle but is otherwise in nice condition!
