An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) The Valley of Decision, the 1945 Tay Garnett Pittsburgh Pennsylvania steel mill romantic family relationship melodrama ("MGM's Tempestuous Romance"; "The Book That Thrilled Millions!"; "MGM's Great Romance"; "Based on the Novel by Marcia Davenport, author of Lena Geyer"; about the owner of a steel mill whose son falls in love with the daughter of a man who was crippled in a mill accident, and both fathers are very much against the romance) starring Greer Garson (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Gregory Peck, Donald Crisp, Lionel Barrymore, Preston Foster, Marsha Hunt, Gladys Cooper, Reginald Owen, Dan Duryea, Jessica Tandy (her fourth credited movie role in 13 years!), Barbara Everest, Marshall Thompson, and Geraldine Wall NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Condition: fair. The poster has darkened somewhat and it has discoloration scattered in some areas from exposure to moisture (see our image). It has pretty substantial creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges and at the lower crossfold and there is much separation in the left edge of the center horizontal fold that makes the poster somewhat fragile. The very rare poster is in urgent need of restoration. Certainly a top restorer can repair the defects described above, and after, the poster will display really well, but please bear in mind the poster's many defects and the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
