Date Sold 8/21/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical 10 1/4" x 13" Movie Still (Learn More) Road to Utopia, the 1945 Hal Walker Alaska Yukon musical adventure screwball comedy ("Paramount's most riotous 'Road' show!"; the fourth of the seven highly successful "Road to..." pictures) starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Dorothy Lamour, Jack La Rue, and Hillary Brooke NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the still shows a great candid image of the Paramount set for this movie showing how "5,000 tons of ice make the set into a winter carnival" (and you see the camera men and sound men filming)! There is a stamp on the back of the still that reads, "CREDIT WILL BE APPRECIATED PARAMOUNT PHOTO BY JACK KOFFMAN". Note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. This was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby (and of course, the snipe would be folded backwards, so it would not show). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! Condition: good to very good. There is a 1 1/2" tear in the right center of the still and some creases and small tears around the edges of the still. Learn More about condition grades
