An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) The Sin Flood, the 1922 Frank Lloyd silent romantic disaster redemption melodrama (based on the play, "The Deluge", by Frank Allen and also based on the play, 'Syndafloden', "by Henning Berger"; about a group of people in a cafe located near a river that is under water level; there is a flood and the water level rises above the cafe's ceiling, and the walls are airtight, but the people inside the cafe, an odd assortment of completely different characters, know that they will drown in a short time; even though they are mostly "sinners", their impending death causes them to ask for forgiveness, and a promise to change their ways, but when the flood recedes, they all forget their vows!) starring Richard Dix ("as Billy Bear"), Helene Chadwick, John Steppling, Ralph Lewis, Darwin Karr, James Kirkwood, Otto Hoffman, and L.H. King. Note that in the original play, the ending had all of the people forgetting what they had said when they thought they were about to die. But in order to have a "happy ending", the movie makers changed the ending so that stockbroker Richard Dix and chorus girl Helene Chadwick continue to vow to change, and they rush off to get married!
