The Personal History, Adventures, Experience, and Observation of David Copperfield the Younger (released in other English-speaking countries as "Charles Dickens' David Copperfield"), the classic 1935 George Cukor historical England orphan coming-of-age family relationship romantic melodrama ("Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Mightiest Production"; "1935's Most Beloved Motion Picture"; "The Best-Loved Motion Picture of 1935"; "Charles Dickens' Greatest Story"; "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's greatest motion picture with a cast of 65"; "Star cast of 65 players"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; based on the famous novel by Charles Dickens; produced by David O. Selznick) starring W.C. Fields ("as Micawber"), Lionel Barrymore ("as Dan Peggotty"), Madge Evans ("as Agnes"), Maureen O'Sullivan ("as Dora"), Edna May Oliver ("as Aunt Betsey"), Lewis Stone ("as Mr. Wickfield"), Frank Lawton (in the title role "as David, The Man"), Freddie Bartholomew (in the title role "as David, The Child"), Elizabeth Allan ("as Mrs. Copperfield"), Roland Young ("as Uriah Heep"), Jessie Ralph (as Nurse Peggotty), Frank Lawton (as David, The Man), Jean Cadell, Lennox Pawle, Basil Rathbone, and a "Star Cast of 65 Players". Note that MGM took a great chance in casting W.C. Fields in the role of Micawber. No doubt everyone expected Fields to greatly ham up the role, and turn this serious subject into slapstick, but instead, he gave a wonderful performance, and added greatly to the movie!

Important Added Info: Note that in the 1930s, Whitman Publishing had great success with "Big Little Books", and the similar "Better Little Books", which were tiny books that each had an image on one side and text on the other. They were mostly aimed at children and teenagers, and often were adapted from comic strips, comic books, movies, etc. In the case of this book, it was created by The Childrens Press, a London company that made the same books as Big Little Books, except they were called "Big Little Bumpers"! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: good. The spine is completely missing.
