An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28 1/4" x 41 1/4" [72 x 105 cm]) (Learn More)

What Every Girl Should Know, the 1927 Charles Reisner silent romantic adoption tennis melodrama ("Based upon the story by John Wagner"; about a 17 year old girl and her young brother, who are sent to an orphanage when their older brother is sent to prison for a crime he did not commit; they are adopted by a rich young man, and she becomes a tennis champion, and the rich young man falls in love with her and after some difficulties, he gets her brother out of prison and they plan to be married) starring Patsy Ruth Miller, Ian Keith, Mickey McBan, Carroll Nye, and Lillian Langdon. Note that in the 1920s, there were a lot more orphanages than nowadays, because there was no "safety net" for the children of deceased parents. There are a lot of movies in which men adopt teenage girls out of orphanages and then marry them. Apparently, that was something that was not unusual at that time! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we previously auctioned an example of this poster 29 years ago, and this is likely that same poster, so this is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned! Also note that this one-sheet measures 28 1/4" x 41 1/4" [72 x 105 cm].
