Date Sold 2/4/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Desert's Price, the 1925 W.S. Van Dyke silent cowboy western melodrama ("From the novel by William McLeod Raine"; " A rip-roaring, double-barreled drama of the plains"; about a woman whose father is killed by two brothers during a range war; a rancher takes pity on her and goes to work for her and saves her from being lynched by one of the brothers!) starring Buck Jones, Florence Gilbert, Edna Marion, Ernest Butterworth, and Arthur Housman. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this film is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we were consigned these two lobby cards! Condition: good to very good. The card pictured at bottom has a few creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges and some are repaired with tape from the back. They are otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
