An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Movie Poster (measures 28 1/2" x 45" [72 x 114 cm]) (Learn More) The Drum (released in the U.S. as "Drums"), the 1938 Zoltan Korda English British-in-India war adventure thriller ("The tide of empire sweeps on in the action drama of the year!"; "A stirring epic of India's wild frontier!"; "Superb in the tradition of 'Lives of Bengal Lancer' and all the colorful romantic adventures of mysterious, unconquered India, Alexander Korda has created surging drama of a brave woman's love and a boy's gratitude... magnificent in the new Technicolor."; "IF WE LIVE... Mason") starring Sabu Dastagir (billed as "Sabu"), Raymond Massey, Desmond Tester, Roger Livesey, Valerie Hobson, "And a Cast of 3,000" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this French poster has been trimmed and it now measures 28 1/2" x 45" [72 x 114 cm]. Condition: good. The poster appears to have had its left and right blank borders neatly trimmed off, and it is possible that this extended into the image on either side (we don't know because we have never seen another example of this poster). It had three horizontal creases near the center of the poster, one in the upper middle, and two in the bottom middle, and there were creases, smudges, and small tears on parts of several foldlines with paper loss in the vertical foldline 1" below the title and another area of paper loss in the "T" of "ALERTE". There were two areas of paper loss in the top border affecting the big top credit. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking (depending on if the trimming affected the artwork). The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
