An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Western Luck, the 1924 George Beranger silent cowboy western ("Story and scenario by Robert Lee") starring Buck Jones (billed on some items as "Charles Jones"), Beatrice Burnham, Pat Hartigan, Thomas Lingham, and J. Farrell MacDonald. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there is a real oddity about the lobby cards from this movie. Some of them have Jones billed as "Charles Jones", and others have him billed as "Buck Jones". They appear to be otherwise identical. The ones that have "Buck Jones" have a box around the name, as though it was a paste-over on the printing plate. Our best guess is that during production someone decided to change his credit and that they printed more lobby cards with "Buck Jones" on them. If this is correct, then technically the ones that say "Charles Jones" are the very first release, but since this is only a guess, and since it might have been a matter of days or weeks between the two printings, we are leaving them all as first release. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that there is a stamp on the back that reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Michael R. Hawks", who most would consider the premier lobby card collector and expert in the world (and he is still an active collector, looking for the last few items he needs!). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is in excellent condition and is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
