Date Sold 4/9/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Folded Special Movie Poster (measures 39 1/4" x 55" [100 x 140 cm]) (Learn More) The Lonely Princess, the 1913 Maurice Costello silent Venice Italy romantic melodrama short starring Maurice Costello, Clara Kimball Young (in the title role as the Princess), William V. Ranous, and Doris Thompson. Note that director/star Maurice Costello was the father of Dolores and Helene Costello, and Dolores married John Barrymore! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this special poster! This is a VERY unusual poster from the early 1910s! In the earliest days of movie distribution, the studios (especially The Vitagraph Company) temporarily hit on the idea of creating one poster for use in several European countries, and to make that work, they put the title of the movie in three different languages at the top of the poster! The languages are Italian, German, and French. This is a rare opportunity to purchase an extremely early movie poster! Condition: fair. The poster has tears and areas of paper loss on parts of the folds and borders, and it has many light stains scattered throughout, with separation on parts of some folds. Obviously, this poster has REALLY major condition issues, but it is extremely rare and certainly it can be "rescued" by a talented restorer. But please bear this expense in mind (and look at our super-sized image) before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
