An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Man Who Played Square, the 1924 Alfred Santell (billed as "Al Santell") silent romantic gold mining cowboy western ("Story by William Wallace Cook"; about co-owners of a goldmine who have a dispute, and in a fight both mortally wound the other; one of them survives long enough to sign over half his interest to his best friend, and the other half to his partner's daughter, and after many adventures, the friend ends up marrying the daughter, so they get the entire gold mine!) starring Buck Jones, Ben Hendricks Jr., David Kirby, Hank Mann, Howard Foster, and Wanda Hawley. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. There was paper loss in the center of the right blank border and someone taped a piece of another card to the back of that area. There is a tear at middle left that was repaired with tape from the back and a 1 1/2" horizontal crease at ur that runs into the right of Jones' hair. Learn More about condition grades
