Set of 7 Original Vintage Theatrical Advertising Glass Slides (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) a set of 7 local theatre glass slides, the 1930s-1940s glass slide advertisements promoting current and upcoming films available at local theaters. Three of these were created by the theater taking existing glass slides and cutting away a lot of the image and replacing it with writing of their own. The other four were created by taking blank glass and hand writing and drawing onto it, and then using them exactly as they would use a studio produced glass slide! The movies advertised are King Solomon of Broadway (Edmund Lowe), The Girl From Missouri (Jean Harlow), China Seas (Jean Harlow, Clark Gable, Wallace Beery), Heir to Trouble (Ken Maynard), Thicker Than Water (Laurel and Hardy), Fighting Shadows (Tim McCoy), and The Throwback (Buck Jones). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: These slides are the kind that have two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of each image, but we have not taken photos of the slides, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good. Some of the slides are handmade . All have varying degrees of stains and smudges. Learn More about condition grades
