Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the classic 1939 William Dieterle romantic love triangle horror melodrama ("Ten times a thousand thrills!"; "BIG beyond words! ...Wondrous beyond belief! ...Magnificent beyond compare!"; adapted from the novel by Victor Hugo) starring Charles Laughton (in the title role as Quasimodo, the hunchback), Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"; as Frollo), Thomas Mitchell, Maureen O'Hara (as Esmerelda), Edmond O'Brien (as Gringoire, the poet), Alan Marshal, Walter Hampden, Katharine Alexander, Harry Davenport, Helene Whitney, Katherine Alexander, George Zucco, Fritz Leiber, Etienne Girardot, Minna Gombell, Arthur Hohl, George Tobias, Rod La Rocque, and Spencer Charters. Note that this was a wonderful sound remake of the classic 1923 silent movie starring Lon Chaney Sr. and Patsy Ruth Miller in the lead roles.

Important Added Info: Note that when studios would prepare pressbooks they would often include a sample of the herald. Most often, the herald is no longer still with the pressbook. Sometimes, the herald by itself will sell for almost as much as the rest of the entire pressbook! This pressbook contains the original herald that was included with it, and it is pictured next to the pressbook below.

Condition: good. the pressbook was folded across the middle; the front cover and the first interior page have paper loss at the right in the middle as well as many creases, scuffs, and areas of surface paper loss across that area of the cover and in the rest of the cover; the back cover has creases and scuffs across the center; the rest of the interior pages are in pretty nice condition as is the color herald!

This pressbook is in clearly lesser condition. It has significant defects, such as tears, stains, smudges, and small areas of paper loss around the edges. It may have ads cut out, or be very fragile. It has also been folded in half across the middle. We have given a good general description of the defects this pressbook has above. Please do not bid on this pressbook unless you can accept the clear defects that it has (if you look at the images we provide and read our description, you should get a good sense of what defects this pressbook has).
