An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked German Movie Poster (measures approximately 23" x 33") (Learn More)

The V.I.P.s (released in some other English-speaking countries as "Hotel International"), the 1963 Anthony Asquith English airport aviation romantic melodrama ("This is the story of one very dramatic, devastating night... In the glamorous private world of the very rich, the very famous, the very beautiful, the very powerful ...the 'Very Important Persons'!"; "An Exciting Modern Love Story"; "Elizabeth Taylor...and Richard Burton... in a story about... that exciting chemistry: man and woman!"; "The emotions... are measured... in megatons!"; "Written by Terence Rattigan"; about a group of very different people who are trapped in an airport during a long flight delay, and each is at a turning point in their lives) starring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Louis Jourdan, Elsa Martinelli, Margaret Rutherford (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Maggie Smith (in her third credited movie role!), Rod Taylor, Orson Welles, and Linda Christian

Artist: Hans Braun
Important Added Info: Note that there is a paper snipe over Orson Welles' credit. We can't tell what was under the snipe. It seems odd that this was done (perhaps originally his name was smaller than the others, and the snipe made it the same size). If anyone knows what is written under the snipe, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are slightly noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "Pre-Restoration Defects & Quality of Restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

The poster had tiny paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and wear along the foldlines. There were pinholes in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well.
