Mattey) starring Roy Scheider (as Chief Brody), Robert Shaw (as Quint), Richard Dreyfuss (as Hooper), Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, Carl Gottlieb, Jeffrey Kramer, Susan Backlinie (as the girl who swims nude at the beginning, and soon greatly regrets it!), Jonathan Filley, Ted Grossman, Chris Rebello, Jay Mello, Lee Fierro, Jeffrey Voorhees, Craig Kingsbury, Dr. Robert Nevin, and Peter Benchley. Note that this movie had to be altered drastically when the mechanical shark (named "Bruce") did not work properly, and so the many scenes that showed it were altered so that you either didn't see it or could only barely see it. Of course, this greatly added to the suspense of the movie, and no doubt accidentally helped make it a giant hit!

Important Added Info: Note that this special poster (referred to in the hobby as a "7-sheet", because it is slightly larger than a six-sheet) was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap, similar to a six-sheet from this time period. We have previously three times auctioned this 7-sheet, which is the "international" style, and they sold for $8,250, $8,200, and $7,250, but two of those posters were not linenbacked, which naturally costs a lot for a poster of this size! THIS POSTER IS ONE OF THOSE THREE POSTERS WE PREVIOUSLY AUCTIONED, WHICH HAS BEEN RECONSIGNED, SO IT IS STILL ONLY ONE OF THREE INTERNATIONAL STYLE 7-SHEETS WE HAVE AUCTIONED! The reason we know it is the international style is because we previously auctioned a very similar 7-sheet, and that poster had a tagline in the left and also "Opens June 20 Everywhere" in the lower left, with the shark image solely in the lower right. That poster was a domestic 7-sheet (and it sold for $11,000), and this poster is the international style 7-sheet. The reason this one doesn't have a date on it is because the filmmakers knew when it would open in the U.S. when they printed the domestic 7-sheet, but they could not put a date on the international 7-sheet, because it would be used in several different countries that would have different opening dates. This international 7-sheet has a perfectly centered shark image, so some might consider it more visually appealing than the domestic 7-sheet, but of course, it does not have the tagline that the other poster has.
