An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Lobby Card #3 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Benedict Bogeaus' On Our Merry Way (the movie was originally 9 minutes longer and released under the title of "A Miracle Can Happen", and was slightly cut and released under this title), the 1948 King Vidor & Leslie Fenton newspaper reporter journalism romantic comedy ("It's hysteerical [sic]! Slapstyrical!"; "The NEW look in 1948 movies is 'A Miracle Can Happen'"; "Guarantee - If this isn't the funniest picture you've ever seen... your laughs will be refunded"; "Meet the Merry Dame Who Sets 'Em Aflame!"; "Written by Arch Oboler, the man who gave you 'Bwana Devil' and Radio's famed 'Lights Out'"; "Original story by Arch Oboler"; "James Stewart - Henry Fonda Material by John O'Hara"; about a man who works in the want ads department of a major newspaper, and he goes to the editor and says that he could write better human interest stories than the ones they print, and that is the framing device for the movie, which then tells three human interest stories about three very different groups of people) starring Paulette Goddard ("the gay-lamorous reporter's wife"), Burgess Meredith ("the rap-happy roving reporter"), James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart, "the stew-pendous piano player"), Henry Fonda ("the kinda broken-down bandleader"), Dorothy Lamour ("the sarong-slung movie star"), Victor Moore ("the droop-shaped manager"), Fred MacMurray ("the browbeaten baby-snatcher"), William Demarest, Hugh Herbert, Eduardo Ciannelli, Charles D. Brown, Dorothy Ford, Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer, Eilene Janssen, Betty Caldwell, Frank Moran, David Whorf, and Charles Laughton (in deleted scenes)

Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Fred MacMurray! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

This autographed item was obtained from the estate of a consignor, who recently passed away. He started collecting mostly lobby cards and stills in the late 1960s, and he hit on the idea that he could get a lot of them signed, because he knew that many of the stars were still alive, but that many of them lived in the Motion Picture Home run by the Academy, and he visited there many times, becoming friendly with a number of the stars there. He also was able to meet other older stars, and acquired most of his signatures in person, although a few were acquired through the mail. He went out of his way to obtain signed items from his favorite films and stars, which included It's a Wonderful Life and Harvey (because he became friends with Jimmy Stewart). He was also friends with Moe Howard and Larry Fine, and he obtained many signatures on items from their films, which he loved, and he also was friends with Margaret Hamilton, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, and most of the Munchkins, because he especially loved The Wizard of Oz! His family does not have certificates of authenticity for any of his items, but they do have multiple pictures of him with the stars who signed for him, and we are 100% certain that the items we are auctioning from his collection were personally signed by the stars!

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.

Condition: very good to fine. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
