An Undated (probably 1950s) Re-Release 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Television Still (Learn More) Affectionately Yours, the 1941 Lloyd Bacon newspaper journalism post-divorce romantic love quadrangle comedy ("From the story by Fanya Foss and Aleen Leslie"; about an international reporter who has affairs wherever he goes, but when he is having an affair with a Spanish woman, his wife contacts him that she has met someone else and is divorcing him, and he heads back home to try to rescue his marriage, but the Spanish lady follows him!) starring Merle Oberon, Dennis Morgan, Rita Hayworth, Ralph Bellamy, George Tobias, James Gleason, Hattie McDaniel, and Jerome Cowan. Note that it is ironic that in this movie Rita Hayworth plays a Spanish woman, because Harry Cohn spent a fortune at Columbia disguising that she was Spanish! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that in 1956, a company called Dominant Pictures was formed, to re-release classic 1930s and 1940s movies to theaters. They primarily released old Warner Bros. movies, and they made duotone one-sheets and lobby sets for those re-releases. Unfortunately, this was at a time when TV was drastically hurting the demand for re-releases of movies in theaters, and a year later, the company was reformed into "A.A.P." (Associated Artists Productions). A.A.P. made a massive deal with both Warner Bros. and Paramount to distribute most of their back catalog of feature films and especially cartoons to TV, and they did not need posters for these TV releases, but they DID make large sets of stills for each feature movie, and they must have had access to the original negatives because the stills are incredibly high quality and look identical to those from the 1930s and 1940s, except the paper is slightly "newer". Many of those A.A.P. stills from 1957 and soon after have a snipe on the back, just like the originals did, but the snipes say "FROM AAP'S WARNER BROS." Sometimes unscrupulous dealers have removed these snipes and then sold the stills as originals from the first release. THIS STILL IS FROM THE A.A.P. TV RE-RELEASE OF THIS MOVIE, likely from 1957 or soon after. Condition: good. There is discoloration in the upper right and lower left, caused by the snipe glued to the back (see our images).
