Note that this was Gene Kelly's very first movie, but because he was already a Broadway dancing star, he was given a lead role in his first time out! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Some of these items can ONLY be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. On some of them (for example if it is a size that might ordinarily be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet), the reason it is in this auction is specifically because we feel it either CAN'T be rolled or because we feel it would be a mistake to roll it, because it might well damage the item. In the case of the few items that could be rolled, we will roll the item in a tube if the new owner insists, but only if they accept that they can't return the item if it is damaged from being rolled. So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: poor. The poster is in much lesser condition. It has been glued to stiff cardboard and has significantly faded and has discoloration scattered in various areas due to exposure to moisture and the elements. There is a hole in each corner of the poster where the cardboard was nailed or screwed to a wall or other backing and it has creases, smudges and scuff marks scattered throughout. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above and that can be seen in our image, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
