An Original 1922 (from the first release of this movie in Denmark) Vintage Theatrical Danish Movie Program (measures 5 1/2" x 8 3/4" [14 x 22 cm]; 20 pages) (Learn More) Der Mude Tod (released in English-speaking countries as "Destiny"), the 1921 Fritz Lang German silent fantasy romantic melodrama (a great story of newlyweds who meet a literal Death, and he takes the husband and tells the wife that she can save him, and he shows her three episodes starring her, and she learns she must find a life to sacrifice if her husband is to live, and at the climax, she is holding a baby that will save her husband's life if the baby dies, but instead, she gives her own life) starring Lil Dagover, Walter Janssen, Bernhard Goetzke (as Death/Der Tod), Hans Sternberg, and Karl Ruckert. This movie is only remembered today by film buffs, but it was extremely influential in its day! Alfred Hitchcock said it was his favorite movie, Luis Bunuel said that it inspired him to become a filmmaker, and Douglas Fairbanks bought the American rights to the movie solely so that he could use similar special effects in his "Thief of Bagdad"!
