Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Wharf Angel, the 1934 William Cameron Menzies & George Somnes Barbary Coast San Francisco romantic love triangle adventure thriller (about the toughest saloon in the famous Barbary Coast, which is run by an older woman, and her tough bouncer, and there is a pretty girl who works there that the bouncer is in love with, and then a man who was falsely accused of murder shows up at the saloon, and they hide him, and he is given a job there, and he falls in love with the pretty girl, and he becomes best friends with the bouncer, and neither of them know they are in love with the same woman, and when the bouncer finds out, he turns in the man for a reward!) starring Victor McLaglen, Dorothy Dell, Preston Foster, Alison Skipworth, and David Landau. Note that this screenplay borrowed part of the plot of Liam Flaherty's novel, "The Informer", and a year later, when RKO made the movie version of that novel, they hired Victor McLaglen to play the informer in that movie, just as he had in this one, and Preston Foster was hired for it as well, but of course, that novel predated this movie by over a decade, so even though it looked like the movie of The Informer borrowed from this movie, it is the other way around!
