An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Slightly Dangerous, the 1943 Wesley Ruggles romantic amnesia mistaken identity comedy ("What a figure she was behind a soda counter! But the satins and sables brought out the best in her!"; "Stop! Dangerous curves ahead! Cinderella came out from behind her soda counter. She'll look adorable in satins and sables."; "Stop! Watch out for curves!"; "'She was cute when mixing sodas in gingham uniforms--but she's gorgeous mixing highballs in silks and satins!'"; "Story by Ian McLellan Hunter and Aileen Hamilton"; a wacky story of Lana Turner as a soda jerk in a small town, and she leaves without telling anyone, and dyes her hair blonde, and everyone at home thinks she has been kidnapped, and then she gets hit on the head and gets amnesia, and the story gets more preposterous from there!) starring Lana Turner, Robert Young, Walter Brennan, Dame May Whitty, Eugene Pallette, Alan Mowbray, and Ward Bond. Note that Lana Turner had been reportedly discovered sitting at a soda counter, and MGM was playfully making fun of that in this movie by having Turner starting out working behind a soda counter! Important Added Info: Note that this is the first time we have ever auctioned a style C one-sheet poster for this movie in all of our years of auctioning! Condition: good. There is paper loss at upper center and there are a few tears of varying lengths around the edges of the poster (repaired with tape from the back at upper center and lower left - see our image). The poster was folded somewhat oddly at one time resulting in some creases and tiny tears along portions of the vertical foldline and some folds and there is separation and paper loss in some of the crossfolds. Otherwise the rare poster is mostly "all there" and can be restored after linenbacking by a talented professional after which it would look great, but bear in mind the cost of restoration and its defects before placing a bid.
