An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Robert W. Service's The Trail of '98, the 1928 Clarence Brown Alaskan Gold Rush gambling romantic love triangle melodrama ("Two years in production! 15,000 people in the cast!"; "From Story by Robert W. Service"; "The call of the Klondike"; about a prospector who strikes it rich, but when he returns to his lost love, he discovers she has become a "dance hall girl" at a gambling saloon, and she is involved with a murderer, and the prospector tries to rescue her, with tragic results) starring Dolores Del Rio, Ralph Forbes, Karl Dane, Harry Carey Sr., Tully Marshall, and Tenen Holtz NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fair to good. There is much dirt on the front and back of the glass, but it likely could be cleaned. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the cardboard holder has staining around the staples.
