Dupont (Ewald Andre Dupont) romantic crime thriller (about a gangster who blackmails a small time crook into taking the blame for a murder he committed, because he threatens to kill the crook's wife; when the night of the execution arrives, the gangster and the crook's wife go to see him be executed, but an act of God delays the execution, and everything works out in the end) starring Grant Richards, Karen Morley, Roscoe Karns, Eduardo Ciannelli, Milly (billed here as "Milli Monti"), Alan Mowbray, Robert McWade, and Carla Mignone (billed as "Milli Monte"; she often went by her stage name "Milly") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: This was printed by Associated Displays Corporation which was a company based in New York City. Before it was discovered by noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben, collectors did not know the name of this company (and thought it to be located in the Midwest), and it is often referred to as the "other company" (and we will continue to refer to it that way, since collectors know it that way). From 1936 to roughly 1941, this company printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The items almost always feature a tiny legal disclaimer and cast credits only. The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They did this by combining elements from different film scenes onto one poster or card. Sometimes, "other company" posters have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters. Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There is faint water staining in the right of the card (more so in the lower right corner) and three tiny areas of paper loss in the top blank border. There is a piece of tape on the back of the center of the top border, but it was not put there for any restoration purpose. Learn More about condition grades
