If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only once before auctioned this British quad, which has a completely different image. The buyer of that poster has now reconsigned it to us, so this is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned! It originally was printed with a credit for TODD-AO in the upper left and in the bottom right, and then the poster was overprinted in those two areas. There are clearly two possibilities on why this was done. One is that the poster might have been printed when the movie was intended to be released in England in TODD-AO, but at the last minute that was changed, so they overprinted the posters before distributing them. The other is that the poster might have been used by a theater that did not have a TODD-AO print, so they overprinted over those areas. We tried to check this by looking at other examples of this poster, but not only have we never auctioned it before, but we also could not find an example of the poster anywhere on the Internet! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had two areas that overprinted with solid black, where there had been a TODD-AO credit (see above). It also had very minor wear on the folds and tape stains in the top blank corners. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
