Oh, Pretty Woman, the classic 1964 song written by Roy Orbison and Bill Dees and recorded by Roy Orbison. This song's popularity marked the high point of Orbison's career. The title was inspired by Orbison's wife, Claudette, interrupting a conversation to announce she was going out. When Orbison asked if she had enough cash, his co-writer Bill Dees interjected, "A pretty woman never needs any money"! Note that in 1990, Garry Marshall made "Pretty Woman", starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, and this song was played on the soundtrack, and it was a giant hit!
