An Original 1947 (from the first release of this movie in Spain) Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5" [9 x 13 cm]; 2pg) (Learn More) Blake of Scotland Yard, the 1937 Robert F. Hill (billed as "Bob Hill") London England fantasy science fiction (sci-fi) crime detective mystery adventure serial ("A Victory Serial in 15 Thrilling Episodes"; "15 episodes of reckless action, spectacular thrills, baffling mystery"; about Sir James Blake, a detective who is assisted by Dr. Jerry Sheehan, and together they battle a mysterious villain called "The Scorpion" over possession of a "death ray" machine; gee, I wonder where they got the idea of an English detective with a doctor for an assistant!) starring Ralph Byrd (as Dr. Jerry Sheehan), Herbert Rawlinson (in the title role as Sir James Blake), Joan Barclay, Lloyd Hughes (as Dr. Marshall, "The Scorpion"), Dickie Jones, and Nick Stuart NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this serial movie was split into 3 different parts when it played in Spain in 1947 (each part contained five chapters of the serial), because this herald has the second 5 of the 15 chapter titles listed. Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Please note that Spanish heralds, like U.S. heralds, were printed in very large quantities, and then sent to individual theaters in Spain, and they would sometimes have the backs of them overprinted with their theater name and specific play dates. But because a movie might play in Spain for a period of a year or two (traveling from theater to theater), there is no guarantee that the date overprinted on the back of the herald is the same as the date that the herald was first printed (and the date that the movie first played in Spain). Therefore, we don't list the date overprinted on the back of a herald as the date of the herald unless we know that was when the movie first played in Spain. If we believe the herald was printed earlier, then we use that date. If it is important to you that the date on the herald is the date the movie first opened, then please look at our image of the back of this herald to see if there is a different date printed on it.
