JOAN BARCLAY

Joan Barclay (born as Mary Elizabeth Greear but also went under several stage names) was an actress from the 1920s through the 1940s. She was born in 1914 and had her first part in 1927, but her next one was in 1930. Throughout the 1930s, she never really "caught on". She was a friend of Clara Bow's, and hung out with the stars, and she married twice at a young age, and both marriages ended quickly, leaving her with two children. At some point, she signed with RKO, and in 1943, she was signed for a role in their proposed "Petty Girl" movie, which unfortunately never got made, and then she only had a bunch more minor roles, and in 1945, she married for a third time and retired, at the age of 31, and she stayed married to that third husband until he and one of her sons died in a car accident in 1967. She herself lived until 2002, passing away at the age of 88, and I bet she had a million stories she could have told!
