A Linenbacked Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Dizzy Detectives, the 1943 Jules White crime slapstick comedy short ("Deliriously daffy with laughs!"; "A Columbia Short-Subject Presentation"; the Stooges are carpenters who become policemen to help catch a burglar; when they catch the burglar, it turns out to be a gorilla owned by the man who hired them) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard), Dick Botiller, Lynton Brent, Ray Corrigan (as "Bonzo the Gorilla"!), and Bud Jamison. Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned a lobby card from this short! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The card had been folded horizontally one-third from the top of the card and one-third from the bottom, with some creases along both folds. It also had a partial fold across the top edge of the image area. It had some creases around the edges, with some in the middle right that extended into Larry's coat. The card had a tiny pair of staple holes in the top center and bottom center. Other than the above, the card did not have defects. Overall, the card was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. Many years ago, someone linenbacked the card with no excess, to cause the above creases to diminish, and that did occur. They are still noticeable, but not very distracting, and the card will display well on the new owner's wall, and it has had no restoration other than being mounted on linen!
