BOSS RIDER OF GUN CREEK BOSS RIDER OF GUN CREEK glass slide OR search current auctions Auction History Result #2671 BOSS RIDER OF GUN CREEK glass slide '36 Date Sold 9/2/2003Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) The Boss Rider of Gun Creek, the 1936 Lesley Selander cowboy western ("Original story by E.B. Mann") starring Buck Jones (in a dual role, as two men who are unrelated but look exactly alike!), Muriel Evans, Harvey Clark, Alphonse Ethier, Tom Chatterton, Josef Swickard, Ernest Hilliard, and Silver (Buck Jones' horse!). Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have made a digital scan that shows the glass image, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. minor stains on the cardboard holder, as is common with glass slides as well as some surface paper loss in the lower right edge; a few tiny scratches on the back of the slide at upper left as well as some minor smudges throughout the slide Learn More about condition grades
