eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 5a0102 WHITE EAGLE pressbook 1941 Buck Jones, includes rare promotional Native American headdress! Date Sold 7/12/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 10 3/4" x 13 3/4" [27 x 35 cm]; 16 pages) (Learn More) White Eagle, the 1941 James W. Horne Native American Indian cowboy western serial ("Ride with Buck... back to the dangerous days when the West was really wild!"; "Buck's on a red-hot thrill rampage in the greatest adventure show of them all!"; "the action-flaming chapter-play"; "the thrill-thronged serial epic"; "the blood-freezing thrill serial"; "the spine-tingling serial thriller"; "Greatest serial epic of them all!"; Buck thinks he is the son of a Native American chief, because they adopted him when his father was killed by the Indians) starring Buck Jones (in the title role as White Eagle), Raymond Hatton, Dorothy Fay, Roy Barcroft, and Yakima Canutt. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that not only does this auction include the uncut pressbook for this movie, but it also includes a great promo Native American "headdress", which has the tagline on it "I am whooping for White Eagle Banner". Surely virtually none of these promo items survive, because it is made with multi-colored crepe paper between its sides, and it seems a miracle to us that the crepe paper has survived intact! Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut and was never folded. It has small water stains at the bottom of the spine in the blank area on the front cover only, and it has faint water stains on the back of the bottom right of the back cover, but they are very faint. Otherwise, the pressbook is in nice condition, and the promo item is in excellent condition! Learn More about condition grades
