An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The General Died at Dawn, the 1936 Lewis Milestone romantic China war mercenary spy espionage adventure thriller ("Two great stars in Clifford Odet's thrilling adventure drama of today's turbulent, war ravaged China!"; about an American mercenary fighting on the side of peasants in a Chinese rebellion, and he is given a lot of money to buy weapons, and he is captured, and he and his girlfriend are tortured to get them to reveal where the money is) starring Gary Cooper, Madeleine Carroll, William Frawley, Dudley Digges, Akim Tamiroff (in the title role as General Yang; nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Porter Hall, and J.M. Kerrigan NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good. There is slight smudging on the glass (it is not very distracting, and it could likely be cleaned). The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the slide is in pretty nice condition!
