Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned one example of this lobby card, and that was 9 years ago, when it sold for $585! Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card's top blank border was trimmed off and so was half of the left blank border. The bottom 1/2" was trimmed off (just above the small text). The image area of the card had some staple holes around the edges. Overall, the lobby card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. A restorer paperbacked the card, and they replaced the missing bottom area with the bottom of a different card, and they also replaced the missing top blank border and the missing half of the left blank border, and did restoration to the above defects. The card was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
