If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that sadly, more money has been lost on examples of this commercial poster than on all other commercial posters combined (because it has a 1933 date printed at the bottom, but actually, it is a REPRODUCTION of the ultra rare 1938 re-release one-sheet)! It's not uncommon for someone to call us all excited because they have a "1933 King Kong original", and we need to break it to them gently that it is a commercial poster (it helps that we can tell them that there is a zip code on the poster, and that zip codes were not added until the 1950s)! Portal Publications was a company in Sausalito, California that made repros of many classic movie posters and sold them commercially starting in the 1960s, but continuing for decades. But since the earliest of these are now 50 years old, they have acquired real age, which makes it all the more likely that people will mistake them for originals. But of course, the poster can still be displayed and enjoyed on the wall just as they were when they were first created. Condition: fair to good. There are some creases, pinholes, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths around the edges. A few of the tears or other defects as described above are repaired with tape from the back. There are some creases and scuffs scattered in various areas with a few areas of paper loss. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid.
