An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 32 1/2" [62 x 83 cm]) (Learn More)

De Syngende Lanser, the circa 1930s German romantic musical melodrama starring Hans Adalbert Schlettow. This is a VERY frustrating poster! The Danish title translates to "The Singing Launch", and the poster only credits H.A. Schlettow, and he was an important German actor who appeared in 158 movies from the 1920s to 1950, and there is no title similar to "The Singing Launch" in that list! The poster references his starring role in "Wolga-Wolga", which was made in 1936, so this poster must be from a movie he made after that, but the lack of information on the poster prevents us from determining which one it is. The poster shows a bunch of people singing and playing string instruments around a campfire. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Artist: R. Eriksen

Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some minor wear on the foldlines. There were some tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it was handled roughly, and there are now a few dots of surface paper loss in the lower right of the poster (any restorer could easily touch up those tiny areas without re-backing the poster).
