Hans Adalbert Schlettow was a German actor from the 1910s to the 1950s. Born in 1887, he was on stage from 1908, and made his first movie in 1917. He appeared in 159 movies in all, including roles in two of Fritz Lang's very best, Die Nibelungen and Dr. Mabuse: The Gambler. In the 1930s and 1940s, he appeared in Nazi propaganda movies. In 1945, at the age of 57, he volunteered the serve in the German army, and was killed in the Battle of Berlin!
