An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Nertsery Rhymes, the 1933 Jack Cummings slapstick comedy (about a mother and father reading nursery rhymes to their three young sons, played by The Three Stooges) starring Ted Healy, The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard [in his very first movie!]; billed as "Howard, Fine, and Howard" [which was how they were known at this time]), Bonnie Bonnell (billed as "Bonny"), Beth Dodge, Betty Dodge, Lottice Howell, and Ethelind Terry NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by THREE people: Moe Howard, Larry Fine, AND Ted Healy! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. In the case of this wonderful still, there is a clue on the back, which is a stamp that reads "From The Collection of DAVID ZALKUS". The inscription on the front from Larry Fine is inscribed "To David", so certainly that could be David Zalkus. Given the value of this wonderful still, we strongly urge bidders to compare all three signatures to authenticated signatures of each of the three stars, so that they can form their judgement as to their being genuine prior to placing a bid. Finally, note that the still has a large stamp on the back that reads "UNRETOUCHED PRINT NOT FOR PUBLICATION". Finally, note that movie paper of any sort from this historic early Three Stooges movie (Curly's very first movie) is beyond rare. We have only ever auctioned one item from it, which was a still that we auctioned 11 years ago, and it sold for $598.88. Now we have been consigned our second item, which is a different still, with a wonderful image, and it was signed by three of the four actors on it! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good to very good. There is a faint diagonal crease running from the upper left border through the center of Healy's face and into the right border, going through Curly's pajamas, but it is truly faint. There are some other creases scattered in the still, but not in the stars' faces. I think this wonderful still will display fantastically on the new owner's wall as it is!
