Important Added Info: Note that this classic image of King Kong looming over the New York skyline appeared in the original theater program, but did NOT appear on any of the original lobby cards or posters. It was one color in the original program, and then this same image was used for a 1938 re-release lobby card (in full color), and again (this time one color) for this 1952 re-release lobby card, and finally, once again in full color in a 1956 re-release lobby card!

Condition: good to very good. The card has been restored by a talented restorer who did NOT back the card! Prior to restoration, it had many pinholes and tiny areas of paper loss in the corners. It had paper loss in the center of the top border with a 2" tear running below that, and someone had put tape on the front and back of that area. There were some faint smudges scattered throughout the card, most noticeable in the "G" of "KING" in the title. The person who restored the card did an excellent job! Not only did they not back the card, but they also did the repairs in a very minimalist way, so the card does not at all have a "restored" look! The paper loss and tear in the top center has been rendered almost invisible, but the smudges in the title letters and some of the smudges and repaired tears around the edges are still visible (although not very distracting). For me, the sum result is that you can clearly tell that this is a 62 year-old vintage lobby card, but it displays really well and the visible defects are mostly in the borders and not very distracting. I think almost any collector would be happy to have this wonderful card on their wall, but please read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid.
