An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) D.O.A., the classic 1950 Rudolph Mate (billed as "Rudy Mate") San Francisco California crime film noir mystery thriller ("A picture as excitingly different as its title!"; "In all the annals of police history there has never been a story like this - of a man who had 48 hours to find his own murderer!" "An exciting story of a man who had 48 hours to avenge his own murder!"; "'I want to report a murder!' 'Who was murdered?' 'I was!"; "For the first time in the history of suspense drama - ... You are given All the clues... exactly as the main character finds them!"; "... YOU meet the people he meets... share his dangers... his thrills... his loves!"; "... You hunt down the murderers... and are hunted with him!"; "... You will find this picture as excitingly different as its title!"; "Story and Screenplay by Russell Rouse and Clarence Greene"; about a man who discovers he has been poisoned, and he must catch his "killer", before he himself dies!) starring Edmond O'Brien, Pamela Britton, Luther Adler, Beverly Garland (in her first movie role!; billed as "Beverly Campbell"), Neville Brand, Lynn Baggett, William Ching, Henry Hart, Laurette Luez, Frank Gerstle, Jess Kirkpatrick, and Cay Forester. There is a mystery to us about this movie. Beverly Garland appears in her first movie and she is 4th billed, under her then-married name of Beverly Campbell (which resulted from a 4 month marriage!), but then after that, she had only bit parts for several years. How was she able to get a significant role at first and then why did she get no more for quite some time? NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Note that this still likely has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that 146 of the stills in this set of auctions come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of almost his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! We said earlier "likely has", because while this collector stamped most of his stills, he did not stamp every one, so you can see for yourself if this is one of the stamped ones by looking at our image of the back of the still. Each of those stamped stills are stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us! Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
